"The Thing" classic film

The GenX Cinema series presents John Carpenter’s “The Thing” on Wednesday, October 4 at 7:00 pm at the Soper Reese Theatre in Lakeport. Entry is by donation. No host wine and bar will be open; additional refreshments will be on sale at the concession stand including popcorn and candy. This 1982 remake of the original 1951 film, stars Kurt Russell, and has become a cult favorite. At the time of its release, “The Thing” marked a new wave of sci-fi, horror films known for their special effects wizardry, compelling action and remarkable make-up effects. The film is rated R with run time of 1 hour 49 minutes. “The Thing” is sponsored by Nick Powell, and presented by the Lake County Theatre Company and the Soper Reese Theatre.
