The 1969 comedy, “The Secret of Santa Vittoria,” starring Anthony Quinn, Virni Lisi and Anna Magnani, screens at the Soper Reese Theatre in Lakeport on Tuesday, September 27, at 1:00 and 6:00 pm. Director Stanley Kramer blends humor, charm, suspense and romance in this screen adaptation of Robert Crichton’s best-selling tale of a small northern Italian village and its attempt to hide a million bottles of wine from the Nazis. Quinn brings pathos and bravado to his role as the bumbling drunk who, by happenstance, becomes the town’s Mayor. Academy Award nominations for Best Original Score and Best Film Editing. The movie is sponsored by the Lake County Winery Association in celebration of California Wine Month. Rated PG-13, with run time of 2 hours 10 minutes. Entry to the film is by donation.
