Lecture & Powerpoint Presentation on "The Californios, Born of Three Cultures" explores the unique blend of races, languages and cultures (Spanish, African, Native American) that combined to make early California one of the most diverse societies in North America. Presented by Deb Baumann, who has been lecturing on this topic for 25 years, mostly in Southern California. She has partnered with the Autry Museum of the American West in Los Angeles, the Smithsonian Institute, and the Santa Ynez Historical Society in past Californio presentations.
