Come to the opening night reception for Middletown Art Center’s (MAC) newest exhibit ‘Gimme Shelter’ on Saturday July 15, 6 to 8 pm - and on view thru August 20th.
The exhibit will feature a compelling assortment of contemporary art work by artists addressing the fundamental concept of ‘shelter’. It seems simple enough, but ‘shelter’ is a loaded term; home, protection, security, nurturing, a sacred space, a lost place. And of particular relevance to us in Lake County post
fires. This new exhibit highlights a varied and strong response to the notion of shelter.
For new MAC artist, Ken Berman, it means a way to provide affordable and mobile housing.
