"Fight Club" classic film

The GenX Cinema series presents the 1999 satire-drama “Fight Club” on Wednesday, November 15, at 7:00 pm at the Soper Reese Theatre in Lakeport. Entry is by donation. Inventive, well cast, and controversial, the film stars Brad Pitt and Ed Norton in an adaptation of Chuck Palahniuk’s best-selling novel about two young men who find an unusual way to bring excitement into their dull 9-to-5 lives. Director, David Fincher, uses the plot and characters to examine Generation X, the “middle children of history,” the first generation to grow up with a value system created by television and video advertising. Regarded by many of today’s critics as one of the greatest films of the 1990s. The film is rated R with run time of 2 hours 19 minutes. “Fight Club” is sponsored by O’Meara Brothers Brewing, and presented by the Lake County Theatre Company and the Soper Reese Theatre.
