The 1959 epic, “Ben-Hur,” starring Charlton Heston, screens at the Soper Reese Theatre on Tuesday, October 10, at 1:00 and 6:00 pm. Entry to the film is by donation. Heston brings a physical and moral presence to his role as a Jewish nobleman whose heroic odyssey includes enslavement by the Romans, vengeance against his tormentors during a furious chariot race, and fateful encounters with the figure of Jesus Christ.
