Alicyn Yaffee in Tallman Concert with Conversation

Join us for the fifth and last of our 2017/8 series of informal Concerts with Conversation in the Riffe’s Meeting House next to the Tallman Hotel. This will be a special afternoon as we feature “local girl made good” Alicyn Yaffee, one of the nation’s most outstanding young jazz guitarists and vocalists. Alicyn is one of the next generation of talented and inspiring young jazz musicians to come out of Northern California. Originally nurtured by the music program at Kelseyville High and now based in New York City, Alicyn’s debut album, “Someone Else” features all original songs exuding the pensive intensity and lushness of artists like Alanis Morissette and Joni Mitchell. Backing Alicyn on the bass will be Benny Rietveld. Benny has been at the forefront of the bass world since the late ’80s. Benny has toured with the great Miles Davis among others and has been associated for many years with Santana as both bassist and music director.
